Counters Set-up

A few examples to help you configure your counters at best while following a pattern

Colors

An example showing how to use the Row Counter App features, to follow regular color switch

Example of Pattern Instructions

Material: Yarn X in Color 1, Color 2

Change color every 6th row

Counter Set-Up

Main Counter

Follows your global progression

You can add in the counter settings the total number of rows of your project (the part of your project that you are knitting, i.e. a sleeve).

=> Increment the counter each time you complete a row

Secondary Counter

Follows your color switch

- Reset after #6

- add a comment to appear at #1 : "change color"

- Is by default linked to the global counter. leave this option enabled, that way when you increment the global counter, the secondary counter will increment as well

Increases / Decreases

An example showing how to use the Row Counter App features, to follow regular increases or decreases

Example of Pattern Instructions

Every 4 rows: Make 1 stitch on each side, 2 stitches from the edge. Repeat 5 times

Counter Set-Up

Main Counter

Follows your global progression

You can add in the counter settings the total number of rows of your project (the part of your project that you are knitting, i.e. a sleeve).

=> Increment the counter each time you complete a row

Secondary Counter

Follows your increases

- Reset after #4
- check the box "show number of resets" (so that you know when you have repeated the increase 5 times)  

- add a comment to appear at #1 : "Make 1 at 2 stitches from the edge, on each sides"

- Is by default linked to the global counter. leave this option enabled, that way when you increment the global counter, the secondary counter will increment as well

An example showing how to use the Row Counter App features, to follow your repeats of row sequences

Example of Pattern Instructions

-----

Row 1: *k3, p1*

Row 2: knit

Row 3: knit

Row 4: knit

Row 5: *k1, p1, k2*

Repeat 10 times row 1 to 5

Row 1: *k1,p1* repeat 4 times, knit 20, *k1,p1* repeat 4 times

Row 2: purl

- Reset after #4
- check the box "show number of resets" (so that you know when you have repeated the pattern 20 times)

- add the following comments:
----- to appear at #1 : *k1,p1*
----- to appear at #2 : *k 20*
----- to appear at #3 : *k1,p1*
----- to appear at #4 : *p to end*

- Is by default linked to the global counter. disable this option, as the secondary counter does not count rows, but stitch sequences. 

=> increment the secondary counter each time you complete 1 stitch sequence.
